truMaps, the next generation of paper maps.

Virtual & Augmented realities are one of the fastest growing areas of technology!

truMaps integrates virtual & augmented realities with conventional paper maps, to create the next generation of paper maps.

With its simple interface, immersive experience, and rich educational resources, truMaps transports students into a world where school-buses can’t.

With truMaps, users can:

− Travel to distant world landmarks like the great pyramids of Egypt
− Explore inaccessible locations such as outer space or inside the human body.
− Simulate historical experiences relevant to course content such as witnessing a famous historical event
− Supplement course curriculum to better help students understand concepts such as earthquakes or tectonic plates
− Create and print your own custom truMaps and share your stories with your classmates and friends using the online map tool and your own panoramic photos and videos.

By looking through the map and 360° videos and photos, students are able to break through the walls of the classroom and go on a virtual reality field trips

From STEM to Humanities courses, truMaps can be linked directly to educational learning outcomes of any specific subject or discipline such as Geography, Geology, History, Art or Music. truMaps can also be printed in curriculum textbooks or standalone paper maps to further enhance students’ crit.

Students and teachers can create their own customized maps and upload panoramic images captured by their mobile devices and share them with their classmates and friends.

Furthermore, truMaps can be used also by Tourism authorities and agencies to promote local economy by highlighting landmarks and places to visit and give visitors a virtual experience of their upcoming trips.

With its unique and simple user interface, truMaps is developed taking into consideration inexperienced users and students (Grade 1 to 12) to be the target customers. With the app running on the mobile or tablet, the user can look into the map through the app and start seeing augmented points of interests (POIs) as pins or 3D models representing landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower or the Great Wall of China.

Once the user concentrates on one of the POIs, he/she will be transferred from augmented reality into a virtual reality environment with the ability to go back anytime.

Using virtual buttons on the map, the user can change the map and turn on and off the different layers of POIs.
